Hotel Britannia, Trondheim

The project

Hotel Britannia is a landmark hotel in Trondheim, where guest comfort and interior design carry equal weight. Heating had to feel refined and stay quiet in guest rooms and common areas, while performing reliably in a Nordic climate.

The challenge

Not every space can accept recessed floor units — heritage floors, existing structures and design intent often call for a surface-mounted solution. The hotel needed heating that is compact and elegant, quiet at night in guest rooms, and consistent across large common areas.

The Konveka solution

Konveka SC freestanding convectors were used where recessing was not an option. With powder-coated steel casings, they act as a discreet design element rather than a utilitarian radiator, and their convector core delivers steady warmth. Placed along glazing and walls, they keep rooms comfortable without visible pipework or bulky panels.

The result

Quiet, even heating that fits the interior — guest rooms stay comfortable and common areas hold temperature, with equipment that complements the design. The freestanding format simplified installation where recessing was impractical.
